Discover Fly Fishing
Fly fishing is a sport of strategy and technique that is both relaxing and exhilarating. While the basic skills are not difficult to learn, it offers challenges for even the most experienced anglers. Learn from Bob Nasby, Vic Mason and Bob Trevis on how to tie a fly, watch casting demonstrations, get advice about the gear you need to get started, where to go fly fishing and more.
Adventure Trail Pass
Calling all adventure seekers! Kids can learn about the outdoors as they follow the Adventure Trail map to visit stations throughout the show. Pick up your child's map in the NWTF Wild Turkey Room. Stops on the Adventure Trail include the Minneapolis DNR Laser Shot Gallery, Ducks Unlimited Room, Create-a-Crankbait and the Trout Pond. Kids who visit all of the stations and return their map to the Wild Turkey Room will receive a prize (while supplies last).

Fred’s Shed Interactive Learning Center - FREE Boat Maintenance & Repair Seminars
If you’re interested in learning what it takes to maintain, repair or upgrade your boat or engine, head to Fred’s Shed for practical, professional advice. Free seminars cover a variety of topics, include demonstrations of techniques and tools on boat and motor cutaways, and end with question/answer sessions. Come with your questions and projects to discuss, and leave with the know-how, confidence and inspiration to do it yourself.

Free laser hunting games presented by the Minneapolis Department of Natural Resources Firearms Safety Program introduce children to hunting and teach the importance of safety. It’s a fun, exciting way for youngsters to learn about gun safety, ethics and responsible gun ownership.

Marine Electronics University
Explore the latest in marine electronics technology using Lowrance HDS GEN3 Touch units. Sessions will cover all the basics and more—with hands-on instruction on everything from routine setup and product use to news about leading technologies such as CHIRP sonar and Insight Genesis Mapping. You’ll also hear about newly released products.

Experience fishing in a whole new way—from the viewpoint of the fish! Watch pro anglers demonstrate their fishing and casting skills at this 5,000-gallon aquarium stocked with native Minnesota species. You'll enjoy a unique underwater view of how fish react to different fishing techniques and strike at various types of bait and lures.
Trout Pond—A Show Tradition
There's no limit to the fun! Catch-and-release fishing pond is a great way to introduce youngsters to the fun of fishing. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the moment when your little angler reels in a "big one". Free for kids 12 and younger!
